Can anyone recommend quality car speakers?

If you're on a relatively low budget, I would go with Pioneer speakers. They are cheap and have a well rounded sound. For a little more money I would go with Infinity speakers, and if your budget isn't an issue I would go with MB Quarts or JL Audio speakers.

To the last guy......crutchfield is a RIP OFF......I would go with some MB Quartz if you have the money. Or check out LANZAR.com they have great quality at a decent price...They usually have sales online.

Ok, the last guy and BOSE....not so much...... for your car there are MUCH better choices...first off, you are typically limited to only the choices that FIT your car and the factory locations that your car has. Finding a BOSE speaker to fit your car and sound good...nealry impossible:) BOSE was the best 5-7 years ago, now just average at best... But, I would recommend a company called Crutchfield (crutchfield.com) and there you can enter your car data, and then the website tells you what fits, then shows you a list of speakers to choose from! You will get many options from cheap to expensive. Middle of the road is a good starting place. But good speakers won't fix a crappy radio! When you buy your speakers from them, you will also get detailed instructions on removing your old speakers and how to install your new one, this will also include any wire connections that you will need at no additional cost. As for brands, here are my top three: Polk, Pioneer, Alpine

I've been installing or changing out speakers in my vehicles and my friends vehicles for the last 20 years or so, and I've found this to be true, whether you spend $20 for a set of speakers of $2000 it's all about what sounds good to you. And guess what? Your car and its speakers are going to end up in someone's junk yard or salvage yard one day. So don't put too much thought or money into them. My suggestion to you is to come up with a budget for what you'd like to spend, visit your local audio installer, and let them put in the best speakers you can buy with your budget. You should be pretty happy with just about anything you buy as most aftermarket speakers are a real improvement over factory. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Infinity, Alpine, Eclipse, Polk Audio, make good speakers that can fit all kinds of budgets

The kicker RS series are really nice, I have the 5" set. They are a bit pricey, though. If you want something more affordable, Pioneer makes decent speakers as well.

Infinity and Boston Acoustic. To judge a speaker, listen to some music that has cymbals being played, like a jazz CD. You will find a lot of variety in how speakers reproduce and color these frequencies that are at the very top end of the human hearing spectrum.
