Why do rear speakers are not working?

My rear speakers not working in 2005 sunfire?

• I bought a 2005 sunfire about 4-5 months ago and when i bought it the rear speakers werent working so i checked the fade and balance ect and it was all set the right way so i figured it was the stereo itself and my gf bought me a new stereo and the rear speakers dont work still and its wired the right way and everything. i'm gonna replace the speakers in the future but i want the stock rear speakers in my sunfire to work. and i was wondering if anyone would know how to fix them and or how to tell if they are blown. any help would be nice.

  If they are not working at all, there is a very good chance they are blown. If you dont want to take them out to test them, just grab another speaker and hook it up to the speaker connection (A house speaker would work, or any speaker for that matter) and if it gets sound from the deck, the speakers are shot. If you arent getting sound (even treble) they are probably going to be seeing the trash soon. If another speaker doesnt work you might have to track down a spot where a mouse could have chewed on the wires. Hope this helps!
