Good sound system for a 1999 Ford explorer?

Speakers as in (4) and a stereo for 250-300...Good luck,buy them used from ebay?

your speaker size should be 5 by 7 or 6 by 8 their both the same size and if you have a factor radio in the car you'll need a dash kit and harness so if you get it from circuit city your looking to spend at least 320 for 2 pair of sony speakers installed, radio plus dash kit and harness and they got the free installation on any radio 100 bucks and up hope that helped you out.
