Can my amplifier remote wire connect to power antenna wire?

Can 0 Gauge wire be used for both an amplifier power wire and ground wire.?

  • I want to purchase a spool of 0 gauge wire to hook up my amplifier in my car. I wanted to make sure that i would be able to use that spool for both the power wire and ground wire connections, before i bought it. I also wanted to kno how may feet will i need for both connections(the vehicle the amp. is being installed in is a 2003 ford expedition.). Thanks for the help in advance.

For the power you probly need 16-20 feet and for the ground you want it as short as possible, 3 feet is optimal, so if you bought 20-25 feet that should cover you

25 ft should do. Not all 0g is really that think. They make the rubber thicker on 4g wire and call it 0g. Real 0g is about $7 a ft. I got burned on ebay thought I would you know Hope this helps

You're on the right track. Power and ground should be the same size wire.

There is no problem with going too big on the wire. The only downside is that the large wire costs more. The ground and power should be the same size as said above. Good Luck!!!
