How to install a cd player in 93 ford taurus?

I have a 2004 Ford Taurus Wagon and it has a CD Player.?

  • I have a 2004 Ford Taurus Wagon and it has a CD Player. I put 1 CD in the player and it works fine but it has a toggle knob that states 1-6 cd's I looked all over the carand found no cd changer. Any ideas to find out if this a single disc CD player or a 6 disc CD player? Thanks

  • Answer:

A rear-mounted 6-CD changer is an option in the Taurus. The same head unit is used whether an external changer is installed or not. You have the controls, but no changer to go with it. Ford does make some in-dash 6-disk changers, but they're not available in the Taurus with its combined radio/climate control panel.

the six disc changer was an option for that make of car, with the same head unit being used wether or not you purchased the changer. If there is one it will be in the trunk.

check the trunk for the 6 disk changer if their is one.

Don't know about this particular player, but I have seen several car players that you just keep inserting discs into the same slot and the player stores them internally. Try to insert another disc. If it goes I'm right if it won't accept another then keep looking for the external cartridge. It's also possible that the previous owner didn't install the external cartridge or that they took it with them when they sold the car.

They use the same radio buttons/knobs for all thier radios, cd, tape, cd changer.
