How many watts do I need between each subwoofer?

Hey i just got a alpine type e 12 inch subwoofer, what amp do i need to get and how many watts?

  • im trying to save some money so what all do i need to buy and i need to install it all and all the wires, what do u recommend

  • Answer:

Okay, whatever the RMS is of your sub, find an amp that gives that same RMS number, and runs that much power at the same ohm of your subwoofer. You must have a 2-ohm, or 4-ohm subwoofer. The amp should be cea-2006 compliant. This ensures that the amp gives out the watts it says, because it was tested. For wires, look into a simple amp installation kit at your local electronics store.

go get your money back on your speakers,I have an 03 Cadillac DTS showcar and have blown six Alpine Type R's in a year and they are better than the E. I would never recommend them to anyone. My husband used to be sponsored by Orion when he used to use his Eagle Talon at crank-it-up contests and he won every competition he was ever in but they aren't as good anymore. Save your money until you can buy better speakers or you'll just be wasting your money on a new amp and speakers or it will sound like crap anyway. I have saved money for awhile for Volfenhag twelves and I have a Soundstream Picasso amp.

go to one of many auto parts stores and see whats on sale try to find a system that has everything included wires with amp you don;t need a whole lot so the price should be within a 110 bucks and it is simple to hookup
