What type of amp should I buy?

What amp should i buy for my Alpine Type R?

• I recently bought an alpine type R(alpine type R swr 1042D) its a single 10" sub..im going to put in a ported enclosure..its rated @ 500 watts RMS... now a lot of people are telling me to go for the Alpine MRP M500...now i have no problem with the V series amps(i already have the F300 powering my speakers) but for the money you dont get as much bang for your buck(at least when it comes to powering a sub) Anyways...the reason i dont wanna get the Alpine amp is because for the price it lacks a lot of features similar amps offer in the same price range...i was looking into the MTX JH600 because of its higher wattage(600 RMS),bass control knob, and fan cooled system...the alpine does not offer any of these...which one should i get? with the alpine i would be right at the correct RMS range but with the MTX i get many more helpful features but am over the RMS limit....any ideas? or amp suggestions? i was told i could get a more powerful amp and still be ok...just turn it down..therfore getting a cooler amp running temp and the ful performance of my sub with some tuning to the gain of my amp... idk its all confusing..any feedback is great... thanks

  you can put a lil more power to subwoofers 600 is fine but you have a 4 ohm type r so you could only wire it down to 2 ohms or 8 ohms so you have to find a amp that pushes out 600 watts rms at 2 ohms or 8 ohms more likely 2 ohms the MTX JH600 amp is 2 ohm stable and will do fine with your sub heres a site how to wire it to your amp http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=42
