How to keep my subwoofer from blowing?

Is this a good amp for my subwoofer?

• I have a Polk DB1222 - A dual enclosed slot vented MDF trapezoid subwoofer speaker Equipped with two 12-inch Dynamic Balance polymer composite cones Frequency response: 27-200 Hz Power handling: 720 watts continuous, 1440 watts peak Equipped with a Klippel optimized component using a state-of-the-art Klippel Distortion Analyzer heres the amp im looking at, the hifonics hfi1000: Hifonics HFi1000 Hfi Series D-Class Mono Amplifier 1 x 475 @ 4 OHMS, 1 x 750 @ 2 OHMS, 1 x 1000 @ 1 OHM is this a good choice to be able to keep it steady without having to worry about blowing it each time i turn it up? it has great reviews so if this will work, i want it, what would be the pros/cons? I dont want to spend anymore on an amp.

  have a hard time believing the numbers on hifonics there new equipment. but they have been in this game longer than i have been.and the question you should be asking is for a good class d amp that has the RMS you need and if it is stable at a 2 ohm load or even a 1 ohm load the key word is stable.if i was you i would be looking at old school amplifiers like rockford fosgate/alpine or orion all big time underrated and can handle 2 ohms with ease.you can find all the old school power on eBay then car audio then old school amplifiers,this is were the true power is.they don't make amplifiers like these anymore.check it out and be sure to look at the old school fosgate stuff very underrated for power you can better than double the RMS rating on these amplifiers,this is what i run and its very power full and has great clarity.hope this helps.
