How would I wire subs to AMP?

How to wire subs and amp to 2ohms.?

  • So I'm not sure if my amp is actually stable at 1ohm. It's the kenwood kac -9104D and I'm trying to power 2 12" JL w6's and well the amp turns on but doesn't power the amps. If you own this amp maybe you can tell me why the blue and red lights mean on the amp because the only light I get is the res light and if I new what the blue was I can probably narrow my problem down more. And also how to wire this equipment at 2ohm I have no idea how. If you no the problem on why my amp isn't pushing my subs please tell me why

  • Answer:

That amp is not 1 ohm stable. That doesn't mean it wont play at 1 ohm but it will most likely void the warranty. If its going to be for daily use wire it at 2 ohms. Now the "res" light...red? Red light is probably the protect light which means it goes into protect it self from blowing up or it is already blown. Also for if your going to wire 2 DVC (dual voice coil) subwoofers to 2ohms you to wire the coils parallel then back to series.
