How do I connect my old subwoofer to my new speakers?

I want to connect four speakers, two tweeters and one subwoofer (pioneer)....how many watts and channel i buy?

  • i want to know how many watts amplifier should i buy and how many channels should it be... two sony xplode speakers 440w at the back.... two factory speakers at the front...connected with tweeters... and pioneer sub 1200 watts...250 rms i am looking to buy sony xplode...or pioneer....or kenwood...no other brands are easily available like these...:D

    you could get away with a four/five channel amp with the needed specs but finding one within those small parameters will be impossible your best bet would be to look into a two or four channel amp for the inside speakers and a separate mono-block (1-channel) amp for the sub to keep the RMS wattages in your desired range when it comes to amps all of those are good with the sony brand running in last place

One 1000 watt can power all of that easily . But if you want seperate tuning then maybe a 400 at the back speakers and a 600 for the subs . Tweetters can be run into standard front speakers wires

For a single amp to power both normal speakers (including components) and a subwoofer, you really need 5 channels. Otherwise, you'll lose the front/rear fader function on you head unit.
