What kind of amp do i need for 2 600 watt subs?

ok. u got 2 alpine type r shallow mounts, and there 1200 rms a sub. go for a 2000rms amp. now that much power will cost a bit of money. good chance u will be paying $200 or more. because not all brands sell what they say. so u need a 2000rms, dont worry about the watts because rms is way more important then watts. here r some good brands to look for :Hifonics, Kicker, Orion, AudioQue, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, Lanzar, RE audio, Soundstream, etc. stay away from brands like, boss, sony, soundstorm, and other unknown names. but its not gonna be cheap, so get ready. hope this helps and good luck.

i would go with a boss chaos 1500 watt 2 channel. your looking at about 89.00 online. or go to walmart and get you a sony explode 1000 it will push them no problem. there both pretty cheap. dont go by peak wattage you go by rms. alpine is rated by rms.look in the papers and get the rms wattage. i have several amps.i have a 1200 watt rms rockford fosgat amp i will get rid of.
