Car audio question about 4 gauge and 0 gauge Wire.?
-
Ok so my amp says the maximum gauge that will fit is 4 gauge but it puts out 3800 watts and I can't find a 4 gauge that can handle that so my question is what to do cause 0 gauge is a lot bigger then 4 gauge so I don't think it will fit?

Answer:
the most likely answer is that you have bought a amplifier that is overrated. that is, it does not make the power it is rated to make. look at the fuses to confirm this. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1005&hl=wire+chart

The smaller the # the larger the wire so use the0 gauge wire if you can make it fit. Try soldering a connection on the wire to connect it.
