How to wire neons to plug?

How can i make the neons on my subs flash to the beat?

• i have 2 subs in a zsound box that lights up with blue neons. on the side of the box there is a 12v DC input where i plug it into the lighter in my car and the neons turn on... the person i bought the subs off of used to have them flash to the beat.... i thought maybe hooking the speaker wire up to the DC input from my 80w amp might work but i dont want to try anything with out some advice first... any suggestions?

  You are right, do NOT connect anything to an amps outputs other than speakers. I prefer LEDs over neon. Much easier to work with and will never burn out or break. Try searching JC Whitney or the like.
