How to remove rear speakers?
-
I have a 1996 BMW 318ti, all the speakers are blown. I know how to remove the front ones, but how do I remove the ones in the rear? There doesn't really seem to be any way to get at them.

Answer:
ok i tried looking up your car everywhere i could think of just to see where exactly the speakers are an i found nothing, if you can email me with a few pictures of where the speakers are i can help you out.i have over 10 years experiance installing car audio/video an im mecp certified but in all my years i actually never did any work on a 96 bmw 318ti, i need to see where the speakers are so i can help you. shoot me an email from here by clicking my picture an ill email you back with my email address s you can send me a few pictures. i dont wanna give you my email on here for everyone to see. or your other option is what that guy said about going to the library an getting a chilton book, it will give you everything an anything you need to know about rip your car apart an putting it back together. one thing i can assure you is your speakers are definitly not help in by rubber bands.lol i think the dude that said that just seen that your a female an wants very much to help you even if he has no idea what the hell he talking about. here is a little message to that guy an i hope he reads this...if your looking for a friend man maybe you should move from car audio to beauty supplys or hair an make up or something, you will probably know more about that than car audio. lmao.

I haven't worked on that specific BMW but I can tell you that replacing rear speakers in a BMW can be easy or a total nightmare (I've dealt with both). If there are easily-removable grills over the speakers, then it's easy...you just remove the grills and you'll have access to the speakers. If not, there could be quite a lot of dissassembly involved to remove them AND BMW is not known for making their vehicles easy to take apart. If removing the speakers is not easy, I would seriously consider paying to have them professionally replaced as you may very well end up breaking something.

Where are they? Behind the head rest of rear seats? If so then you have to get in the trunk and pop them out that way there is usually a rubber band that holds them in place easy to remove from the trunk. If they are in the side of the doors you have to take the panel off which means remove the screws in the side of the door take it all off. Good Luck :)

Go to the public library and look in Chilton's Auto Repair manual. It will show you how to deal with all the interior objects, panels, accessories.

try crutchfield.com, enter in your vehicle and they will have a diy showing you step by step. I guarantee its not held in by a rubber band lmao.
