How to connect a car dvd player without the e-brake?

is there any way to connect my car dvd player with out the e-brake connected to the wire that has to connect for it to work

The e-brake wire on the system simply earths out throught the cars e-brake light circuit. If you connect the e-brake wire directly to earth/ground then the unit should go.
