Answer:
The first thing to do is actually go to the store and listen to what they have on display. You can "think" it to death, but the audition tells the whole story. It's possible to get fairly decent sound from good 6x9 speakers on the rear deck. Know this though; The system can only sound as good as its worst speaker.

sony subs would prolly be best if from wal-mart. take the max watts listed for the subs and divide that in half and get a amp that will give you that many watts per sub. you will also need a wireing kit@ 8-6 gauge for 500w or less amp and 4 gauge for up to 1500w amp. you will also need a sub box, either single per sub or dual sub box. walmart will prolly sell specifically built boxes for subs. and maybe some 10 gauge wires for the subs to amp, some electrical tape, and a crossover if they sell it. best information i can give ya is to check out www.crutchfield.com and check out their information on how to hook up subs. lots of luck

well the guy in the car audio area dose and will help you threw the hole deal but here it is you need a wiring kit for the amplifier itself.and a class d or mono amplifier to run the sub woofers, the sub woofers themselves and the en closer, a class d amps are best for the job and run your speakers right from the head unit.you need an aftermarket stereo with a sub out plug in for the RCA cable in the rear of the head unit or a line out converter if your trying to do this with a stock stereo without the right sub out plug in and a remote turn on wire that runs from the head unit to the amp itself in this case you will have to find a fuse in the fuse box that powers off with a turn of the key off and run a remote turn on from there to amps remote turn on contact, hope you have an aftermarket stereo or you have to do all the things i just mentioned if you do the plug in and the remote turn on wire should be there it makes the job a lot easier.so its a class d amplifier the sub or subs an en closer a wiring kit for the amp and the right stereo or the right adapters for the job when using the stock stereo.the stereo is the brains of the beast.and go pioneer not that sony crap.make sure the wiring kit is the right size for the amplifier you got if its a 600 watt amp then you need a wiring kit that is able to handle at least a 600 watts or bigger if you plan on going with a bigger system in the future, you can buy a distribution block and down size the wiring from there to the amp itself and you will have room for a 2rd or 3rd power supply in the area the amp is in.this is just a starters coarse.good luck and be calm not stressed when doing this job and never put power into the system until its all wired right.read all instructions twice and double check all connections.sony explode series is the worst trash that sony has ever built.been installing this equipment for 35 yrs and have seen it all the old school stuff is still better than the equipment of today,go to eBay then car audio then sub woofers and class d amplifiers, look at the old school equipment and learn what the RMS rating is all about on this equipment if it dose not list this info its not worth buying.the RMS rating is the continuous power a class d amplifier can make and a sub woofer can handle and if you have 2 subs you have to find a class d amplifier that is a match to what the sub woofers added up to for RMS.a match from amp to subs is what your looking for.that's my typing lesson for today.its not as hard as it sounds.

an amp a box the subs the wiring kit they have the one that cost like 25$ not the one thats like 10$ and if you have the factory head unit then youll need an aftermarket head unit unless you are good at wiring then you can make a factory head unit work and remember its always handy to have electrical tape when doing any kind of wiring

more money and something to put them in.
