Will this system sound good. sub woofer help?

Installing a new stereo system and still keep using the sub-woofers and speakers?

  • I have just recently purchased a car and the stereo system that came with it did not come with any auxiliary input or usb slot. I am intending on replacing it with a system that does. The thing is there are stereo speakers and a sub-woofer installed as well. This might sound like a silly question, but when i do get a new system would i still be able to use the speakers and sub-woofers if i take out the old system and install the new one? I just really do not want to lose them that's all and i really want a stereo system with auxiliary/usb port. Can someone please help me out? And do not tell me to install the auxiliary myself because i have ZERO knowledge of car engines, or to go out and buy an mp3 transmitter because they suck. Thanks alot!! :D

Just make sure you have the wires connected.

I'm not sure i follow completely, but sounds like your wanting to keep the speakers, subs, and amps. But, want to replace the car's "Head Unit" Upgrade to a unit that has the features you desire?? This shouldn't be a issue, Sounds like the unit your wanting is better so should have all the required hook ups to install to the existing speaker system already in the car. You may just want to go to your local audio car shop and see about having them swap the two Head Units. If you can provide some info on the model you currently have and what your looking to buy. Make sure we understand want your wanting. Good Luck

YES, you can use all of the equipment that is already installed. 1) If the stereo head unit is factory, then you may need a bypass box if it is a newer car so that way the car won't "reject" the new stereo and default causing the car not to start. 2) When you buy the stereo, get a harness adapter that is designed for your car. You attach the harness to the back of the new stereo and it will clip right in to the factory stereo harness... That is provided that whoever put the stereo that is in now (if aftermarket) did the same thing. You can probably reutilize the harness from an aftermarket stereo, but if you buy a new one, it will show you what wires go to what wires so that way you can do it on your own without having to know a whole lot about stereos. 3) If you are way too intimidated by it after buying the new equipment, then take it to a stereo shop. They will probably charge you between $50 to $150 to install it. 4) If you go to www.crutchfield.com and put your vehicle information in, and order a stereo from them, they will send the head unit as well as the harness that is required to wire to the stereo to install it in your car. In many cases, they even send you instructions on how to do the job step by step. Good Luck!

Yes you can plug the stock speakers into an aftermarket head-unit. And they will prolly sound better than they did before because your head-unit usually has a internal amp. Just make sure that the specs on your head-unit has enough plug-ins for 4 speakers and a sub. hope that helps

Well if your going to have it installed, just tell the installer what you want and he will give you a price...
