How can I do a Copy-Protected CD?

My CD-changer ate my CD! How can I get it out?

  • I drive a 2003 Ford Focus ZTS sedan. I had Gloria Estefan's greatest hits album in the 6-disc in-dash CD-changer, model 6006. I had to disconnect the battery, and when I hit the "CD" button to switch from radio to CD, the head unit flashed "No Discs". I know that disc is in there, but the CD-changer doesn't know it is in there. How can an old woman without a lot of mechanical know-how get it out? I'd prefer not to go to the dealer. Thank you.

    2 things can happend cd changer gets stuck or it is on ship mode turn the radio unit on. Press and hold the LOAD button for approximately 2 seconds. The audio unit will enter loading mode, at which time the shipment mode will be exited,if this don't help the unit needs to be service good luck

try disconnecting the battery again. the changer should cycle through each slot, checking for a CD. Maybe it just didn't see it the first time. Other than that, some smaller stereo shops will take a look at it for free if they are not busy.

I'm actually hoping the battery trick mentioned above will take care of it...that would be easy. What about just turning the radio off/on? (You mean it's possible to actually turn off the radio?...who knew? Why would anyone want to do that? hehe) Sometimes they provide a very small 'emergency' hole in the front of the CD player. They are meant to eject a CD that failed to eject properly. If you see a small hole, very carefully poke a paper clip (or something that will fit) into the hole and hopefully the CD will pop out. Beyond that, your best bet would be to find a car audio shop in the area and have them take a look (should be a quick fix). Good luck
