Need help with wiring speakers to amp?

Speakers/amp help please?

  • Ok guys im just needing a lil help here. I have this "1000" watt amp, 110x2 @ 4 ohms and 155 watts x2 at 2 Ohms. The amp is bridgable and says 2 channel. The thing is ive got 2 cheap roadmaster speakers. There rated 60 RMS and 4 Ohm impendence. There all i can afford right now. They have 4 wire terminals in the back of them. On my amp it has 4 terminals total. How would i got about wiring this? I was thinking all the positives and negatives together. Will this work? My dad who really has no idea about this "loud noise crap" (lol) says i need a capacitor b/c of the resistance or something i dunno. I thought a capacitor was for when you crank it up real fast. But im just now getting into this audio stuff. So any help would be nice. And plz dont tell me to upgrade my system just need some help doing this please dont wanna mess anything up. Thanks!

    Amp: 110 watts x2 @ 4 ohms 155 watts x2 @ 2 Ohms Speakers: 60 RMS and 4 Ohm impendence. The four connections means a DVC or dual voice coil. Each coil is 4 ohm. There is but only one way to wire those subs. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/SERIES-DUAL.jpg Wire each sub to each channel this way and each speaker will get 55 watts from an 8 ohm load.

I was going to tell you to get better stuff but at least you know you have crap. You have a 2 channel amp and 2 speakers. This should be VERY straight forward. your amp should have 4 terminals in order in something like this: CH 1 CH 2 + - + - OK now you have your speakers. Each speaker also has + - on it. All you have to do is connect the + and - together, ONE speaker per channel. You also have to have power, ground, remote and RCA cables attached to your amp for it to work (it needs to turn on duh!)
