What amp should I get for my car?

What car amp should I get?

• I had my car radio stolen the other day and now that I need to buy a new USB player (Pioneer), I am thinking of also buying a 10 or 12 inch subwoofer + amp. I've got 2 front door speakers and 2 back door speakers. What amp should buy? 4 channel amp needed? What brands must I look out for and brands must I stay away from? I want to spend about R1200 (150 USD). I want good bass but don't need it to be completely over the top to the point where the car rattles like crazy. Are the Amp watts important? Thanks guys!

  If you want a nice receiver .. I suggest JVC personally. they have never done me wrong and the only reason why i would have had to buy another receiver was because I wanted an upgraded model .. If you want a sub or multiple subs.. you better bet the power that you give them is just as important. I don't know what kind of system you could build with $150 but some names i like Rockford fosgate & JL Audio & Kenwood. ran all three in my systems... currently JL Audios 12w6v2's and im getting a JL 1000/1 slash. I hooked them up to a kenwood but i felt kind of bad... because you should only run JL with JL.. because JL equipment is like the mona lisa of quality... you just dont mix an match with jl. Rockford amps are pretty solid along with Kenwood amps and receivers. I've always trusted Rockford subs. I'd try Soundstream .. I've heard that Davinci amp is pretty solid. DC Hertz Audio is another better name .. made in italy Mille subs.. and amps are decent. stay away from kicker.. but all in all there are so many options to choose from but this is an expensive hobby
