Why are my subs constantly hitting as soon as I turn them on?

My subs were hitting harder with a stock stereo than with my aftermarket stereo!?

I had my subs line out converted to my stock stereo in my '02 malibu, and I just installed an after market stereo but my two 15" Kicker Comp subs attached to my 1200w SSL amp were hitting harder with stock stereo. I have to turn my amp power and bass boost ( which deteriorates your sub and voice coil = ( ) up all the way to even amount to what it sounded like! Help please!
Answer:

You just need to adjust your settings, you need to match your gain to your HU pre-amps. Also adjust some settings on your HU and amp, assuming your amp has filters that is.

stock stereos always hit harder... people just get after market cuz they look cooler lol you may just have to get a better after market stereo! i had the same exact subs as you w/ an aftermarket stereo... i miss them! man they baaaanged!
