Which sub is the better choice?

A good Sub to ride around with nothing to loud whats a good choice?

  • Im looking for a sub probably a single or dual 12'inch, whats a good brand and what should i do concering the amp?

    Stereo Integrity Magnum....Perfect Sound Quality. Also look into brands like adassa, or maybe a level 2 dc sub. If you are looking for something on the cheaper side the alpine type r might be ok.

It will depend on the type of music you listen to. also how loud. the Alpine "R"series woofer is by far the best bang for the buck. get a dual 4 ohm 12", use 500 watts RMS, put it in a 1.2 cu ft enclosure (sealed) If you are loud, buy more woofers !!!

Alpine 12" rocks, and you can adjust gain for a more rounded musical enjoyment, without thumping dual 15"s. You can also adjust gain to decrease the bass load to the sub for your own personal taste. I have an Apline 12" in a small box, in the back of my "Z", and a single channel amp (I forget the wattage), and I can thump it, but prefer the well rounded bass & treble blend. You can always check into Bazooka tubes, if they are still out there to add some bass too.

Although these subs these guys are suggesting are great for the money, they are loud subs. You said that you dont want anything to loud. If you are not looking for anything crazy and dont want to spend a fortune, you could go with infinitys newest generation "Basslink". It is in the same family as a bazooka tube or all-in-one bass solution. By doing this you dont have to mess with mouting an amplifier and running any high gauge wire. It is 250 watts and sounds very crisp and clean. It provides a great all around sound and is fairly inexpensive compared to the type r subwoofer. Let me know if you have any other questions.
