How good are Q power subwoofers?

I don't understand how to tell the power an amp can give to my subwoofers.?

  • I really have no clue how to know how much power I can run my subwoofers at. I havent bought an amp or subs but im thinking to running them anywhere from 400w-800w. I dont know any amps I could get or how to tell if the amp can rund two subwoofers that will each be running at 800 watts.

  • Answer:

You should match the RMS power rating of the speakers to the RMS power rating of the amp. If you want 2 400w RMS speakers, you'll need an amp rated at 800w RMS. You'll also need to match the impendence (ohm rating) of your speakers to what the amp is capable of handling. If your amp is stable at 2ohms and you'll be running it bridged, you'll need speakers that can be wired to present a 4 ohm load to the amp. Such as 2 8ohm speakers or a pair of dual-voice-coil speakers that have 4 ohm voice coils.
