First off did you buy the conecting harness that hooks up to the cars factory harness? If so try this: First remove the deck and find your POWER (RED) wire, BLACK (GROUND), and CONSTANT 12V (YELLOW). Next make sure all the colors match up, yellow to yellow red to red etc. Next after you have made sure they are all connected correctly set a preset radio station on your radio and turn the key off for about 3 seconds, if it stays then you just had a crossed wire. Also you may just want to check your fuses sometimes if one fuse for a certain item in your car has blown then the other fuse might not have the capacity to hold a charge to the other back-up fuse. If that didnt work then have someone look at your car to make sure everything is wired correctly.

Did you buy a plug that will connect to the factory harness without having to cut any wires. If so the fuse of the (normally) yellow wire on the radio is blown resulting in no power to that wire. As for the lights i will need to know what type vehicle it is.
