What size anl fuse do I use?

How to wire 12v wire to Lanzar Opti 6000d what size inline fuse to use and what size gauge wire?

  • Im clueless on what size fuse to use on this amp and how many runs of 1/0 gauge wire to use to run to this amp...The amp only has one input of 12v battery wire...What gauge wire will i use to acheive full power out of this amp...I have 1/0 gauge wire but that wire can only use at most maybe 300-350 amps of current thats why i said two runs of this wire but i dont think the amps input is big enough for 2 runs of 1/0 gauge wire and also is their anl fuses for audio that are 350 amps.???? Please Help

  • Answer:

you can use something like this to get 2 runs of 0 gauge into your amplifier. http://www.ebay.com/itm/STETSOM-TERMINAL-STT-02-/200647500690?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item2eb785e392 the reason lanzar only put one set of power connections is they assume that you will be running extra batteries in the back of your car next to the amplifier. a single run of 0 gauge that is only 2 foot long can carry enough current to feed the amplifier. i am going to say this because i do not know your level of experience. you do know that you are going to need a H.O. alternator and several batteries to even attempt to run that amplifier, right? http://www.kinetikaudio.com/2009/powercalc.asp EDIT; i would say that you will need at least two d3100 batteries to even think about running that amplifier. i would also suggest a volt meter connected directly to the amplifier's power terminals. if you ever see the voltage drop below 12 volts turn the volume down.
