Why did my front car speakers all of a sudden quit?

Front speakers in car dont work at all.?

  • Car: 1994 Acura Integra LS Headunit: Sony CDX-GT56HI How did I find out: set fader all the way to front. No sound at all. Not even cracking or anything. Front speakers are the original OEM From1994. More details... I bought this car 2 years ago, last owner had an older Sony head unit installed, and I'm talking about old and beat up. I was never able to mess with the settings because when I pressed the "menu" in the old head unit it would just turn off or volume go up/down. So I don't even know if the front speakers were working back then or if the problem started when I installed my new head unit. My girlfriend bought me a brand new Sony head unit, when I pulled out the old head unit I noticed that the connections from the old one and the new one were identical so I didn't bother with the new cables so I installed my .new radio in a "plug and play" fashion. So I don't know if I should buy new speakers (which I had planned on doing already) or if I should check the wiring. Again I do not know if the front speakers have been working at all since I got the car. Thanks!

  • Answer:

You will have to check the wiring from the unit to the speakers I doubt that both speakers are so far gone that you cannot hear a thing. I bet the wiring is disconnected or ran incorrectly.
