Fm radio on iPod?

Any FM/AM ipod radio connectors?

  • I own a 1964 Thunderbird Landau and I wanted to connect my iPod music to the original AM radio. However, my iPod radio connector (the one that goes into the cigar lighter) only works on FM frequencies. I don't want to take out the original radio so I was wondering if they make an iPod connector that works with both AM and FM (that plugs into the cigar lighter). If they do, would I have to go to an electronics store (ie. best buy or car toys). I've looked around several stores and all of them only have the FM connectors. I would also like to know how much they cost. Thanks.

http://www.casmfg.com/Tbird_Radios.htm That's what I would install if I had that car! Factory appearance, up to date technology.. You can only do so much, with as old school as the car's radio, with trying to add today's electronics... I have never seen an AM transmitter (I can only think that the frequencies of today's equipment are way above the AM ones, and not enough people have AM 12Volt radios, to warrent spending the money to make something that can...)

AM? Man, that's just wrong. No way can you get anywhere near good fidelity from a 1964 AM radio playing an iPod through it. You would need an AM transmitter- there are kits, but not what you want. That radio is not even stereo. If you're going to have an authentic 64 classic, you'll need a 4-track and vibra-sonic.
