Do I need to run new speaker wire for my new amp?
-
I have an aftermarket pioneer head unit and have two 12" subs with an 800 watt amp in my celica. I also have aftermarket 3 way speakers replacing the four stock all arounds. I found the matching pioneer 4 channel amp that I needed to complete my set up, but am wondering, if I install this new amp, in order for me to hook the speakers to this new amp, will I need to run new speaker wire? If so, what size would you recommend? Also, I already have a remote wire going to my current sub amp. What is the general procedure to wiring the remote wire to both amps? is it safe to just splice it? I enjoy doing things to my car myself, and appreciate any help that can be given. I will not take my car into a shop to get this done. Thank you.
