Why doesn't car speaker work?

Car speaker wont work!?

  • My speaker wont wok in my car. It started to just cut in and out sometimes and then that got to be long periods of time. So i bought a new speaker thinking that was the problem i put in the speaker it worked for a minute then cut out. So i checked the wiring of the stereo i installed about 2 years ago and it was fine. So out of curiosity i undid the wires coming from my stereo to the speaker wires and hooked the speaker directly to the stereo but it still didnt work!? HELP?? All the other speakers are fine and the fuse on the stereo is good i think.

    Sounds like it's the stereo. Test to see if the speaker wires are getting current at the harness.

bad channel out of the stereo i think.

giving model number will be helpful. are you sure your speaker wires are not shorting out? if you have a portable radio that has speaker output. use that to check the speaker. might be your head unit? pull out head unit and move the wire harness around. might be a loose connection.
