Which amp should I get?

Which amp should I get, the Hifonics or the Phoenix Gold?

• I have to choose an amp I can get either a Hifonics Boltar XI or a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1. I can get the Hifonics for $190 and the Phoenix Gold for $205. I'll be powering either a single or dual 12" or 15" subs.. Which one should I get? I've never owned a Hifonics but heard good things and as far as the Phoenix Gold amp goes it seems like a beast of an amp and is guranteed to put out around 1,400 watts rms... I can't seem to find much info on the Hifonics. I'm getting an older amp this time since 99% of the crap amps being sold nowadays are rated at 2x what they actually put out... I made the mistake of buying and Audiopipe AP-3002 "1,500 watt amp" only to find out it only does 600w rms... Needless to say it is gone and I wasn't impressed.

  phoenix gold is the way to go,hifonics make good equipment,but in my opinion its gold you want.well made and the numbers are most times right on the money.good luck with your system.and they have been building quality equipment for yrs. some of there old school stuff is great.
