Would this be a good amp for my Subs?

Is this a good deal? 2 Kicker vr 12" subs, wireing kit, and linear 1600 watt amp for $320. how good is the amp

    Looks pretty good to me. Kicker is a decent brand for subwoofers, but I've never heard of Linear as an amp brand. However, it does list at 400W RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms. The only thing I don't like is how they advertise as a 1600W amp, it's right on the amp itself too...that's 1600W max at 4 ohms for one channel...I don't like when amp companies try to boast how many watts their amp puts out, and list it as a MAX rating because all that matters is RMS. But overall I'd say go for it. A good deal for $265, the subs look nice in that bandpass enclosure, and the wiring kit saves another $20 or so. When I was shopping for my sub/amp, I was having a very hard time trying to find a good amp for a low price, and was fortunate enough to come across some guy who was selling off old USAcoustics amps...he used to be an engineer for them and had a bunch of amps, like around 40 or so leftover and was selling them discreetly on the internet. Anyway, on some message board I was able to get into contact with him and he sent me an order sheet, got a refurbished 600W RMS amp for my sub, very nice amp for what I believe was right around $100, maybe less. But yeah, amps are a ***** to shop for, because you never know how clean the power is.

it really all depends on how you look at it and what kind of vehicle you are putting it in. A bandpass box is designed for mainly hatchback type cars and the way they are designed. The subs are the lower model Kickers, personally i wouldnt buy anything from kicker other than the CVR (comp. VR), the amp is an ok amp you can usually find them on the internet for right around $75 but to push those VR's it will be plenty. THat amp will push 800watts rms at 2ohms out of each channel or 400watss rms at 4 ohms out of each channel but to get the most power i would bridge the amp( hook positive from one channel and negative from other channel). You would then run wires off of the speakers and splice the negtives off of each speaker to the one negative out of the amp and splice the positve off of each speaker to the one positive off of the amp. I would really question if it is a good deal by how good the wiring kit is. I good wiring kit will run right at $100 to $120 with your rca's , power, ground, and remote. You can get a cheap wiring kit from wal-mart for around $20 but they suck. To run a 1600 wat amp i would use 4 or 2 guage power wire. The amp usually isnt where you get your road noise. Make sure you run the power and remote wire down one side of your vehicle and your rca,s down the middle or opposite side and ground it to the floor near the amp. The road noise usually gets in a system by the RCA's touching another positivly charged wire sush and the power or remote wire. Hope this help and i didnt confuse you but overall it sounds like a good deal. Let me know if you need anymore help with the wiring part.

kicker is o.k. brand,but linear is TRASH,my opinion??go to eBay.com and buy a refurbished kicker amp...better then the trashy linear,good warrant on refurbish,check it out..
