How do I wire 2 amps properly?

How to wire up 4 amps to 2 subs?

  • yes, i have 4 audioque2200's and i have 2 15in fi btl dual 2's how will i begin to start wiring all 4 amplifier up to this two subwoofers. of course 2 amps per subwoofer. im guessing the only way is to daisy chain each one to each subwoofer but then how to i get both amplifier to play together? where would i put the output subwoofer RCAs from the back of the radio? i was able to do only 2 amplifiers to 1 subwoofer but the other two amplifier and subwoofer got my confused on how ima have the other two amplifiers work at the same time. its 2ohm stable when daisy chained but i wont beable to get a 2ohm load. its either a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load. and i checked the amplifier and the amps are seeing 1.2ohms so ima stick with that because 4ohms will be to high and wont get the power i need it will be just like using 1 amplifier just be more efficient at 4ohms. but i really dont know so some advice

you are on the way to having a pile of broken equipment.first, do you have the electrical upgrades to run 8800+ watts rms? if you have less than 600 amps of alternator power and several extra batteries the answer is NO. second, if you really want to set this up call fi and get dual 1 ohm voice coil recones for your subs. reconing your subs will cost less than one of the amplifiers you are are going to kill by running them under the minimum impedance spec. third, you realize that going from 2200 rms to 4400 rms on a btl is only going to get you maybe .5 of a db right? at 2200rms the btl is pretty much at its limit and no matter how much more power you throw at it is not going to get much louder.

First of all, the AQ2200D is only stable down to 2-ohms when linked. You are going to break something if you wire it down to 1-ohm. Second of all, you only need 2 amps to power your subs. BTL's take 2000 watts RMS each, 2 AQ2200D's linked will do 4400 watts RMS @ 2-ohms. Simply wire your subs like so: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard/2_2ohmDVC_2ohm.gif You should not use 4 AQ2200D's to power 2 BTL's. You have an expensive setup and doing this will set you on the fast-track to breaking your equipment.

car split cable 4 wars to all 4 amps.. the yget equal voltage the yplay together.. then equal length of cable to subs.

but daisy chaining 2 together are only stable down to 2 ohms and you will be pushing 1 ohm per speaker. i would probably just daisy chain 2 of em and wire your 2 subs to a total impedence of 2ohms

just use 2 amps dont destroy your equipment
