Which speakers would be the best?

Which car speakers will give out the most bass, and the best quality?

  • I need to know what speakers are the best for bass and quality. I drive an '06 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab, and I believe the speaker size is 6.5".I like Kicker and Memphis stuff, and I have been looking at these speakers... KICKER http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-DS65-Coax-Speakers-Pair/dp/B004K4VSCG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_5 MEMPHIS http://www.amazon.com/15-PR62V2-Memphis-Reference-Coaxial-Speakers/dp/B00478VUK0 If anyone has any other suggestions on what would sound the best (GIVE GOOD THUMPING BASS) and have good voice quality, let me know!

  • Answer:

if you are looking for deep bass please dont look for 6" speakers. they may be able to produce -35 hz but it sounds like SH1T when they try leave the bass for 12" + Subs and -6" for vocals and highs Just like DENISE i have 2 pioneer champion series pro subwoofers TS-W3002d4 in a soundstream 212 box they are insanely powerful 220 hz- 25 they shake the cars next to your's mirrors and doors. they also like to grab the attention of cops at 3 am. these subs are $200- $300 depending on delivery charges. only need a small enclosure for peak performance. 0.8 min - 1.6 max cu.ft vented. best subwoofers.

Kickers and Polk audio are AWESOME!!! i prefer kickers!! I was a car-fi specialist at Best Buy and I recommended Kickers to most people who wanted good bass... but if u can get your hands on some BOSE speakers... those are amazing! My mom had a factory Bose system in her 2002 Escalade when we had it. one of the best sounding systems i have ever heard! keep in mind, it was stock! i cant imagine what it would sound like after market! good luck! I hope this helped!

You can get SOME bass from a 6.5" speaker, but not using the entire door as en enclosure. Find a way to build an enclosure around the back of the speaker, say 1/2 cubic foot tops, you'll find the bass response (and sound quality) of a 6.5" speaker can improve considerably. You will won't be "booming", but it'll sound a lot better.

The Kicker's will SCREAM. Especially if you run an amp to them. The Memphis will sound good too. But it's going to give you a warmer, richer sound than the Kicker. Thats due to the fact that it has a dome tweeter. The Kicker has a metal tweeter so the highs are going to be higher and you're going to get an extremely crisp sound. I've heard them in person... they're potent. Don't look for bass out of a 6.5 though. Just dont. Thats what subwoofers are for.

Upgrading My System

a 6.5" speaker is too small for thumping bass.. both should have good sound quality, but you will need a subwoofer and amplifier for the bass you are looking for..

you want bass get an ORION HCCA.
