Subwoofer - Auto Speaker HELP!?

I have a 1992 Ford Tempo; huge trunk... now I need some speakers and a cd player to go into it... I have no idea what to get or any of that stuff... I want a nice base but I dont want it to be so loud I can't hear any of the words; unless I dont want too LOL... Anyway I need help I am trying to find something to get and any advice would be great because I have no idea what I am doing. I asked some kid for help but I have no idea what he said; I can't remember. please help!!

EDIT: go with this. polk audio signature reference 10" u can find it on sonicelectronix or cardomain. i would do this, see which is cheaper and they both have 105% pricematch so the higher will be the lower if u get what i mean. get the alpine pdx-1.600 amp. then it doesnt matter if u get single or dual voicecoil since that puts out 600rms @2 or 4ohms. its also a small amp and stays cool. check out cardomain for a box. go sealed, and the recommended size is .66cu. ft. so also nice and small so u dont lose a lot of space. u didnt say if the 4-600 was for just subs or everything. that sub and amp would take u to almost 600 but check ebay and u can save around 100. then all u need is wiring. if u need any more help email me. u will be very happy with that setup. It really depends on how much you are planning to spend. For around $600 you should be able to get a pretty nice sound system inculding subs, amp, and a receiver. I would start with 2 12" subs. Rockford fosgate, kicker, pioneer, alpine, and kenwood are all reliable, but mainly just stay away from sony, and anything that is too cheap. If you want to be able to hear the words, good front speakers are a must. I recently purchased kicker subs and and an amp from an ebay store that is called Audiosavings and I am super impressed. They had amazing prices and selection. hope this helps
