How do you get a stuck tape out of a vcr/tv?

My tape is stuck in my 98 Buick century, does anyone know how i can get it out??

  • Well everytime I press the eject button my tape player, it makes this tappering noise for a while, I dont even know how to get the tape out because thats all i want to do as of now, i am guessing it needs cleaning now but then I am not sure because thats how I play my cds through one of those tape/cd hookups, so if anyone knows a good/cheap way to get this out, I will truly appreciate it

    don't pull on it or pry at it, it will only make things worse. It is trying to eject, so if you can help it out a little, it should come right out. Try using a small screwdriver and lift gently on the tape while it is trying to eject. It should catch and come on out.

You can try gently pulling it out with needle nose pliers, if you can grab it (while pushing at the eject button at the same time.) I did it once. If not, the whole unit needs to be taken out and taken apart. I had to do this as well. When it happened to me the 3rd time, I gave up and installed a new player.

i would try to take the system out and take it apart carefully remembering were every thing goes then take it out if that doesnt work try a sludge hammer/ or upgrade.
