What are the best subwoofers for the money?

Which brand of subwoofers are the best in terms of value for money and quality?

  • i.e. which brand is good in terms of clarity as i am not really into those competition level bass. i just want bass at the same time i want to hear the lyrics of the song that i am listening to. thanks!

    You could buy a Kicker 12" CVR for about $80 (without box). That sub is rated at 400 Rms ( real power). You could buy an amp that puts out that real power for about $150. Lastly, a single box shouldn't be much more than $40 for one that is pre-fab that sounds good, and doesn't take up too much room in your vehicle. That should be good, especially if you get that wild hair, and want to crank up the bass a notch. All you really need is one sub for what you're describing. Do not buy anything from your best buys or similar places. You won't be able to see after they poke your eyes out. Hope this helps

I would go with either audiobahn q series or power acoutik mofo series. They really give you the most bang for your buck. The bass wont be over powering cause you can always set the gain to your liking. I've had damn near every type of subs on the market and every size. Every band is basically the same, the ohm load is the key the lower you go the deeper and pure sound you get. I've always liked 2ohm stable subs "dvc subs". They give you deap sounding bass that isn't over powering

well there's alot to pick from. if you don't have a lot of money kicker is prob. a better choice to go, the CVR or the COMP. both of them are good! sony are okay but for the price you pay for them i would go w/ kicker, there about the same place. then you have MA audio, fosgate, mtx, those are also good subwoofer, the fosgate and the mtx might run you a little more for money!

In my humble opinion I would say JL Audio. The W3V2 series is a fantastic option for those who want the best sound quality for your buck. There are plenty of subs out there that are louder, but poorer in quality. Unless you want to shuck out loads of cash, a set of 10W3V2s will run you around 300 or so, depending on where you live. Box not included of course.
