What do i need to complete my sound system in my truck?

  • well i have a pioneer sub and a planet audio amp but i think the amp is not very good and old but people have mentioned tweeters and capacitors i have no idea what they are I've never had a system in my truck and I'm trying to make it my first but i have no idea what the hell I'm doing lol

    they have some great how to videos on youtube.com/car audio then what ever your interested in.a video is worth a thousand words and you can play it until you understand it.capacitor one this is all you install and it stores energy for when your amp is calling for it.use youtube.com to find out all you need to know,stereo installs amplifier installs,its all there.(capacitor install)(tweeter install)good luck with your system.

tweeters are the speakers that produce high frequency sound. a capacitor you do not need unless your head lights are dimming when the bass hits(for bigger sound systems generally) for a good system i would reccomend 2 10s or 12s , some mid speakers and 2 tweeters. get a class d amplifier for the subs and a seperate 2 channel or 4 channel amp for the other speakers. good luck.

i agree with the guy above i wouldnt worry about a capaciter because its ur first sub and its prob not that powerful. you should get a new deck cus it makes a huge difference. you'll need a wiring kit too. make sure to go with a low enough gauge that it can handle more power if you chose to upgrade. i would start with that and then replace the speakers when you can cus there the easiest (usually) and the cheapest

if you dont know what your doing dont worry about capacitors and stuff just get good aftermarket speakers. you might want to look into an aftermarket head unit as well. just slowly build your system up. you dont need to go all out at once. you might need the head unit now to hook the amp up tho. good luck
