Building a ported sub enclosure with external ports?
-
i was wondering if i would achieve the same spl, and sound quality if i built the port on the outside of the box, instead of internally. i've built numerous boxes before, but i've never tried it like this. i'm trying to build the main part of the enclosure out of fiberglass, and have the ports wrap around my trunk since they're gonna 1.25"x12" and 22" long. your advise is much appreciated.

Answer:
Building the port on the outside will sound exactly the same as if you build them in the inside. As long as you keep the same internal volume of the enclosure you will have the same sound. Good Luck!!!
