What is a good subwoofer/ amp system for my car?

I want to hook up a subwoofer in my car but dont have an amp. How do i connect the woofer to my system?

    Too bad Mr D, you need an amp. Do you think your sub will sound good with 20 watts from your head unit? No, it wont. Someone asks this question every day here, and the answer is the same. You need an amp. Its what gives the sub power. A head unit cannot power a sub, its not made for that.

If you want a good sound from the sub, I definitely would recommend spending a little and getting an amp. Look on ebay and get one used. They're not that expensive and they would sound so much better. Trust me, get the amp or skip it.

this sounds like it would be a major project, because your subs take up alot of power which the amp provides.. but if you still don't want an amp. you can put in smaller subs in place of the back speakers and yes that will be a big projec.. or to make it easier you can get a pretty cheap, good working up for 40 this days.. hope this helped..

you will be under powering the sub, which will fry your voice coils quicker than over powering it....get an amp....you do want it to sound good right?
