Which is subwoofer is better?

  • Infinity 10" Basslink Kenwood KSC-WD250T 10" Powered Subwoofer I read that the infinity produces bigger bass. But out of 100 reviews ten said it blew the first week. The kenwood is a average subwoofer i heard. It produce ok bass. The upside is it is cheap. Both brands are good brands and i dont know which one to choose. Which one is durable and cheap.

    Well Infinity is supposed to have a higher quality sound. It will be more expensive but you are really just paying for the name, and a slight increase in quality. But the Kenwoods would be a better buy. Like you said it would be cheaper and should still sound good.

I'd go with the infinity.I have a 12'' in my 86 f-150 with a 600 watt amp and it does perfect....but that's just my thought.

Compare the spec sheets for both subwoofers. The sub with the higher "X-MAX" rating will be able to handle higher volume without blowing out or getting distorted. Power handling is not that important if you are trying to avoid a blowout, X-MAX is. The X-MAX is how far in out out the subwoofer can move before the sound quality goes to crap. It's also a good measure of how loud you can safely go without worrying about damage. Also, if you want to avoid blowout, match the amp's power rating with the power handling rating for your sub. If you overdrive the amp, the sub will blow. If you use an amp half the power of the sub, your chances of over driving the amp go way up. Also try to avoid using too powerful of an amp to power the sub, that too can cause a blowout. Look at the "surround" material used on the subs. Foam will blowout very quickly, while rubber or fabric can last for years.

Infinity's are okay for a while, while using them I had to replace them way to often. Kenwood, same problem... Try using the Kicker Comps., they sound way better than most and last forever. You just can't beat them for quality and durability.
