WHat do i need to hook up subwoofers and a amp with a stock head unit? I know i need subs amp amp wire.?

it's called something like a hi-lo filter/convertor. go to circuitcity/bestbuy and they'll tell you exactly what you need.

I think what you are looking for is a line level converter. It converts high level output to low level output(RCA outputs). With a line level converter you tap into the existing factory wiring or you can go with an aftermarket converter from METRA ELECTRONICS. Do some research on weather you want to tap into the factory wiring or not. I hope I've helped out a little bit.

You will need: Amp wire to run from your battery to your amp Fuse rated at least 10 amps lower than your amplifier draws at peak to protect your amp and subs. Remote wire to run from your stereo to your amp Larger gauge speaker wire After market harness/line converter to run rca links from your stereo to your amp Some sort of splicing material (I prefer quick taps) to tap your remote line to your stereo power line. However.... It is usually worth it to upgrade to a better head unit. On top of the fact that most aftermarket head units come with RCA pre outs and remote line hookups, many also now have controls to adjust your sub level built right into the deck. hope this helps
