If your subs are 500watt each and you have 4 of them you should get a 1000 watt amp that way if you have to much power you can always turn it down. getting an amp with more power than needed is always better than one that is to small.

throwing around numbers like 2000 and 3000w 4 channel amps is a pretty good indicator you're looking at some peak power ratings, which you should recognize are completely meaningless. I would not recommend mixing it up with 10's and 12's. It would make a lot more sense to just get better 12's if you want to upgrade. Car audio is one of those things where more is not always better. Edit your question again and include the model of your mtx's along with their voice coil configuration. Are they Terminator's, Thunders', Jackhammers? Dual voice coils, single? 2 ohms, 4 ohms?

1000 to 1500 make sure its a monoblock amp and the tens u get are the same impedence as the other ones such as 4 ohm single voice coil or 4 ohm dual voice coil etc......... and that way you can run it all off the monoblock amp

Look at the rms of the subwoofers.. if they can handle 500 watts each then go for a 1000watt amp... i have 2 kicker comps 10 inch and they only use 150 rms so im using a 500 watt amp
