Need help with a car Audio System?

Need help making my car's audio system sound great?

• I don't know too much about car audio so I need help figuring out what is good and what isn't. I have a mitsubishi Galant 2000. I have the factory audio system and the sound gets distorted after turning it to a certain point. I went to best buy and this is what they recommended. New Alpine rear and front speakers and Alpine deck $350 Alpine 12 in sub and Sony amp $300 Is it really THAT necessary to replace the stock speakers or can I get a pretty clear and decent sound with just the amp and sub? Thanks

  Well you definately need a new headunit because thats what amplifies the speakers and stops distortion. But to answer your question, it would be you best bet to get new door speakers so you can turn it up loud and there be no distortion. But the amp and sub arent going to change the sound of your door speakers but a new headunit will definately make a difference. I suggest one of the basic Kenwood models that has the USB port in the front of it.
