How can I hook my iPod up to my car stereo?

How do i hook my ipod to my Monsoon car stereo?

  • Next week i'm getting a 2007 Beetle and it has a factory Monsoon stereo in it. I was told it is compatible with an ipod (i have the 8g nano) and it has an auxiliary input jack, but i'm not sure what exactly i need to plug my ipod in. I guess i have to buy some kind of cord but i really know nothing about cars or electronics, so could some one tell me what i need to do? Am i right in thinking that all i need to do is plug it in? Or do i have to install something else?

  • Answer:

You just need a plug. It looks the same as headphone plug ins, (the metal part on the end) and it's the same on both sides. One side plugs into your cars input and the other into your mp3 player where you would normally plug in head phones

there's a cord that looks like a headphone jack but it has that connector at both sides... so you plug one end into your ipod and the other into the auxiliary input.

There should be a button that says Line In! Press that, and plug it in to your outlet thingy! Hope that helps!

You could get a transmittor and connect it to the iPod and turn the radio to a station that doesn't get any reception and then go to that station on the transmittor and your iPod should play. The other way probably works better, though.
