Pioneer in car stereo wont work?

I need to find out how I can repair a cracked motherboard on a pioneer car stereo?

  • i have a pioneer car stereo w/ a detachable faceplate that i accidentally dropped. Beacuse of this, the motherboard was damaged (crack from top to bottom). All the controls to the left of the car stereo do not work. I can still listen to the radio tuner and the cd but I cannot eject the CD or manually change the stations. Is there a professional glue or adhesive that I can use to fuse the motherboard into one piece and have the connections function again?

    Not in the least. A circuit board has many hidden trace paths that transfer the electrical signal to and from all the different components on the top and bottom side. Glue will not fix or allow the signals to traverse the break. You'd need to solder bridge or jumper wire each broken path to recreate connectivity, and that would be a huge task. Visit http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/. Find your specific model. Look for a replacement "KEYBOARD ASSEMBLY". This is a new complete faceplate PCB with all components installed. Swap it out and go. If a keyboard assembly is not available for your model, contact me, I may have a used one. Good luck!

Not likely. The circuits may never work again with this motherboard. I don't know if you could get the part on eBay but that is what I would do. You might also try to buy a new faceplate from Pioneer.

I have to say to just get a new radio as it`ll cost you more to fix than buy a new one.And even if it is fixed the deck will never work the same.

you might just have to replace the stereo or get a new mother board i don't think that a crack motherboard can be fixed but I could be wrong

Yes, it could be fixed, but only by a trained professional. All of the traces would have to be re-soldered with connecting wire and the board epoxied top and bottom.
