What's a good ipod-compatible car stereo?

My car stereo died, whats up?

  • I was removing the light in the roof of the car because it was messed up and draining my battery, but while I was disconnecting it, there was a spark shock/spark... I fixed the electrical problem, and my cluster is lighting up like it should... but my car stereo burned out... do I have to change the unit or is there a way to fix it without having to buy a new system?

  • Answer:

theres no way u fried your stereo by playing with a light, you blew a fuse no doubt about it, most aftermarket decks have a fuse directly on the back of it, if its still stock than its probably in the fuse box under your dash, happy hunting

check the fuses

What Goodcat said; fuses are there to protect your equipment, and it sounds like a fuse / breaker done it's job. All you have to do is find the fuse that is blown. Start at your fuse box / deck first.

there are 2 fuse, one on the back of your stereo and the other at the car's fuse box, now if you have a amp check the fuse as well

chilasy2k2

check the fuse on the stereo wiring or the fuse panel box fuse for the radio's fusing in there either one then if it isn't that your stereo burnt out on you then.

Check your fuses first. Most likely you blew a fuse for the radio.
