Are these speakers good? or at least for the money?

Spent a lot of money but my stereo and speakers still do not sound good?

• Hello, I bought this older car and it had blown speakers. I went to circuit city and bought a new radio and speakers to bring it up to date The bad news is I spent over 550.00 and it really does not sound that good. It is missing a lot in the sound quality and seems to be all mid range? I bought their top of the line pioneer radio and polks that would fit in my car. After the install he explained that the door speakers will not work and had to be disconnected (I did not understand why) and because the speakers have to be such a small size there is only so much sound they can put out and they will struggle. There are now speakers in the front towards the floor that you cannot hear well and then the back speakers. He said to get any better sound I need a woofer and amp to put in the trunk? I still did not understand. I wanted a simple system with good clarity, good sound quality, good high, low and mid ranges... The kind of nice sound that my 1998 volks already puts out and it is just a stick radio. Do you know anything about this??? The specs of my car and why I will not be able to get good sound quality.
