you may want to first upgrade those speakers, if all want is to get rid of the crackling sound. A sub will require an amp and probably a stereo depending on what you want. You can get the set for around 200 at best buy - probably cheaper at wal-mart and they are name brands; such as Sony, Pioneer and JBL. Head Unit and Speakers (4)- I spent around $300 on mine w/o an amp/sub, don't need them per my use. check out your local wal-mart site

haha dont listen to them jl audio does not make subs for a reasonable price. you will spend the most of their stuff....its cause they make the best quality subs and amps though. for under a budget id go for some kicker cvr's or alpine type r's. they arent super spendy and sound decent. your biggest problem will be finding the amp for a good price. thats normally the most expensive part of a stereo. they arent too difficult to install yourself. i did all my stuff but ive also done a lot of work on my friends and what not. google the installation and see for yourself if you think you can handle it

My Suggestion. as far as i know, kciker is the only one who makes square subs. so i say get some square kicker subs. you might be asking yourself. whats the difference in sound from a circle sub t a square. well think of it mathematically. A Square has more surface area then a circla right? so the square sub wil move alot more air in the box. that or a company makes octagon subs, they hit hard also. sure they look frekin wierd as hell and not alot of people have them, but y be popular when you can be better? hope this helps!
