Can I add 2 more speakers to cd player?

Weird Problem with Headunit/Amp & Subs.... Radio works fine through speakers and subs, but CD player doesn't!

  • I just hooked up a system for the first time in my Alero, with Pioneer speakers/subs/amp and an Alpine headunit. The radio works fine when played through the speakers and subs, but the CD player and my iPod produce no sound at all through my speakers! When I connect the amp/subs..... the CD player and iPod only play through the subs! So no treble can be heard at all and my car speakers become deactivated! The weird thing is... my headunit is actually reading the CD and iPod, and I can see the name of the tracks on the CD and the info, etc. I don't know what the problem could be? Please help!

    Is your CD player internal to the head unit, or a separate changer and how did you connect the iPod? Sounds like a bad head unit. If your problem was that the CD would play through the speakers, but not the amp, I'd say that the switched power antenna wire was used instead of the amp turn-on wire. Your source is selected through the head unit, so if it plays the radio, it should play the CDs. If it is a Monsoon system, what year is it? Starting about 2001 or 2002, The Monsoon amps were triggered on by sensing audio input, not by a turn-on voltage.

Your vehicle may be equipped with a factory amplifier. If you have a blue wire in the adapter harness you're using, connect it to the blue/white wire from your Alpine head unit (your sub amplifier is probably already attached there). Was your Alero equipped with a stock Monsoon audio system?

yo i had this problem what happened is one of the speakers u replaced were blown and they were backfeeding into the head unit...wait is there more then four speakers in the car because my car had 4 small speakers and 4 normal ones i replaced the normal ones the small ones were blown so they were back feeding so u have to rewired the speakers to the head unit...lots of work but its worth it my system works fine now its really confusing i had to take it to a guy to get it fixed it sucks bro...
