What type of sound system should I get for my car?

  • I never bought a sound system for my car before, but was wondering what kind or which ones would be the best and least expensive.

    Well that's a very vague question. And a thousand answers might work for you, but it all depends on how much you want to spend. The basic would be: Head Unit Amplifier (optional) Speakers Head units nowadays can play mp3, wma, acc and audio-cd, oh and support USB connectivity. Plus, if you get a good HU, you can power the speakers directly from it, sure not the best way to go, but it will do the job. It is a better idea to go to a store and then ask for advice, as there you can see options and prices that would work for you and your car. Hope it helps

It depends on what your looking for.. if you are looking just for some BOOM BOOM in the trunk, I would suggest 2 10inch subs or 1, 12 inch sub or 2 ..depending on how much boom you want. Kicker makes great subs and are usually not too expensive. Try looking in your local bulletin board if you have one.. or maybe craigslist under electronics. I know you will need A sub, box for the sub, amp and wiring kit. If its your first system you would probably want a professionaly to install it unless you or a friend is sound system savey. http://www.decware.com/secrets.htm This is a long, but good read. It tells you how most people go and buy there "Big" systems and screw it up by not setting it up right. Setup is WAY more important than products themselves. It will help you save a lot of money too. If you don't have one I would start with the deck. get a nice one as that will be most important.

Aw I was going to say Rockford Fosgate...I think they're the best when it comes to car audio. But somewhat expensive...
